I have a late 2009 MacBook. In the last year I replaced the battery and the AC adaptor. Recently, the battery is not holding its power well when not plugged in and when plugged in the adaptor is seriously overheating.
Where should I turn to get this diagnosed and repaired?

Before you do that, see if an SMC reset helps.

I followed the directions for finding out how many cycle my battery has gone through but I didn't find a Battery/cycle count listed.
Apple suggested finding this information out before resetting the System Management Controller. Is there some reason that this information isn't available?
